The Camelot Team welcomes you to version 1.97! In this version we evaluated music and chant classes in all three realms, with a particular focus on how to alleviate some of the frustrations with the spell "twisting" dynamic of these classes. This patch also addressed ongoing issues with the 700 level tradeskill quests and increased the bonuses for crafting in the capital cities.
As was mentioned previously, today's patch version is the first one we have had since moving Dark Age of Camelot over to our new hardware and that it would give us an idea of how long our new downtimes will be. It was also stated that if we saw a significant improvement in our downtime, that we would start increasing the frequency of our patches. Today, we were pleasantly surprised to find that the downtime was even faster than we had hoped, and as a result, you will start seeing a steadier pace of updates.
NEW THINGS AND BUG FIXES
- All existing characters have been granted a free Mythic Respec.
- Bards, Minstrels, Paladins, Skalds, and Wardens will now be able to run two songs or chants simultaneously.
- Flutes, Lutes, and Drums will now be able to play any song type, and will no longer be limited to specific songs.
- The crafting bonuses that were introduced in 1.86 for the capital cities of Camelot, Jordheim, and Tir na Nog have been increased to a 20% bonus to crafting speed and a 10% chance to gain a skill point when crafting.
- The loading screen tip for block and parry cap has been updated to indicate that block cap was changed to 60% from 75% in 1.96.
- Fixed a bug that was causing many Realm Abilities to fire twice.
-The additional bonuses to experience, realm points, bounty points, and tradeskills have been disabled.

- A permanent pet-charm has been added to the Instrument Specialization line. This spell will allow a minstrel to permanently charm a pet up to 100% of their level or the maximum pet level allowed by the spell, whichever is lower.

- Fixed a bug preventing Minstrels from being able to re-apply their pulsing charm to a pet they currently controlled.
- New Bug
With 1.97, we introduced the ability for certain classes to maintain an additional chant or song. However, while implementing this, we inadvertently introduced a bug that affects the Minstrel pulsing charm spell, preventing Minstrels from being able to cancel their charm and immediately re-charm their pet until the original charm fades. We are aware of this bug, and appreciate all the feedback that we received that helped us to track down the cause.
We decided to go ahead with the version as planned, rather than holding it off until the bug was fixed and tested. We are working on the fix , which will allow this spell to work as it did previously, and we plan to deliver it with a version 1.97a, which is currently being targeted for next Wednesday, March 18th. Paladins
- The following Damage Add chants in the Chants Specialization line have had their bonus values adjusted as follows, and the high-end versions of these spells have had a celerity effect added to the existing Damage Add. These celerity spells will have the following bonus and range (Damage Add bonus and range unchanged):
Level 3 - Battle Fervor - 1.4 DPS
Level 7 - Greater Battle Fervor - 2.2 DPS
Level 10 - Battle Vigor - 2.8 DPS

Quests - General
- The 700 skill crafting quests for Armorcraft, Weaponcraft, Tailoring, and Fletching in all three realms have been adjusted to require only three specific sub-skills each to complete. These are as follows.
For Armorcraft: Clothworking, Leatherworking, and Metalworking
For Weaponcraft: Woodworking, Leatherworking, and Metalworking
For Tailoring: Clothworking, Leatherworking, and Metalworking
For Fletching: Woodworking, Leatherworking, and Metalworking
- Mission: Infiltration - The duration of the buff given by wearing the Ensorcelled Dragonsworn Helm has been reduced to 15 minutes.
Quests - Albion
- Mulgrut Gets Smitten - Players are now instructed in the journal text of this quest to return to Brother Lawrence when finished.
Hibernia Monsters
- Consul Vyn in Connla will no longer have a duplicate of himself appearing at his location.
Item Notes
- Broken Dragonsworn Armor and Broken Dragonsworn Weapons will now drop in stacks of six instead of stacks of three.
- (Hibernia) The Midnight Marauder Gloves will now salvage for the correct material.
